MASTER in BUSINESS and EXECUTIVE COACHING 2010_12
THE ENTIRE COURSE
All candidates must go through an exploratory interview to discuss their motivation and readiness for the SCOA Program. Upon mutual agreement, candidates attend SCOA‘s Development Center for a day long series of assessments, exercises and role plays to discover their attitudes, skills and motivation for becoming a coach. Each applicant meets then individually a SCOA Coach to discuss the results, take a shared decision about their enrollment in the course and design an Individual Development Plan to drive her/his participation and learning progress in the program.
The FIRST YEAR: Practice in Business Coaching - 25 training days over a 12 months period divided in 2 semesters: Practice in Corporate Coaching and Advanced Practice in Corporate Coaching.
- Development center + 2 hours Orientation interview with a SCOA Coach
- Twenty-two days of training
- 6 individual coaching sessions (for a total of 12 hours)
- A final two-days session devoted to fish-bowl coaching sessions self assessment and feedback on the participant’s acquisition of the competencies included in the SCOA Coaching Model.
- Successful completion allows to go through the SCOA certification process to gain the SCOA’s Certificate Certified Expert in Business Coaching.
The SECOND YEAR: Practice in Executive Coaching - 12 training days over a 7 months period
- 10 training days focused on the world and life of the Executive on the critical challenges of the Executive Coaching process, following by coaching practice and group supervision
- 3 individual coaching sessions (for a total of 6 hours)
- A two-days final session devoted to fish-bowl coaching sessions with external coachees, self assessment and feedback on the participant’s competencies according to the SCOA Coaching Model.
- Successful completion of the program is required to go through the SCOA certification process to gain the SCOA’s Certificate Certified Master in Business and Executive Coaching.
There are four major training areas in the MASTER in BUSINESS and EXECUTIVE COACHING SCOA PROGRAM.
OBJECTIVES of the FIRST YEAR: PRACTICE in BUSINESS COACHING
AREA A - The Client’s Organizational Role: Analyzing the strategic and organizational context of the client
Goals - Participants will be able to:
- carry out a systemic analysis of the client’s business environment, his role in the organization, and his priorities for improving his competencies and performance
- create and implement the methods to identify and explore the client’s professional assets and his behavioural strategies
- create a valid and shared analysis of client’s skills and behaviours
- assist the client in defining the development goals to be reached and the indicators of his effective performance within his organizational context
- help the client to identify situations and opportunities in which the new behaviours and performance may be strengthned and applied to improve results
AREA B – The Coach Interpersonal Relationship and Role with the Coachee: Managing self and the relationship with the client
Goals - Participants will be able to:
- understand and manage their personal experience as a coach in the coaching setting
- establish and maintain a positive, trusting and ethical relationship with the coachee
- help the client plan and achieve appropriate goals during each step of the coaching process
- help the coachee increase his awareness of how emotions, beliefs, and other factors can prevent him from fully utilizing his resources and talents.
AREA C – Change Technology: The client during his/her professional and personal change
Goals - Participants will be able to:
- break down larger goals into manageable, realistic actions that the client may take to improve his performance and effectiveness
- select and apply the specific intervention models to support change
- help clients arrange opportunities to learn and experiment with changes in behaviour that improve their communication, leadership, and organizational impact
- help clients to identify and use methods for analyzing the results of new behaviours and approaches related to both short-term and long-term objectives.
OBJECTIVES of THE SECOND YEAR: PRACTICE in EXECUTIVE COACHING
AREA D – The world and life of the Executive: helping the Executive client to face his/her major challenges
Goals - Participants will be able to:
- understand the major challenges an Executive is likely to be facing during his professional life and help him/her to find effective solutions: how to solve conflicts, how to build and enhance a high performance team, how to lead change, how to balance short term and long term focus, how to maintain a balance between his personal and professional life
- help the client to overcome critical phases in his career and his professional life
- establish their own model and style as Executive Coach
- increase their ability to learn and improve through experience, feedback and support by colleagues
