SCOA The School of Coaching is committed to follow these principles:
- establishing a contact based on the principle of mutual respect
- orienting the interaction towards mutual growth
- accepting and transforming emotions into resources
- learning from life experience and using this knowledge to tackle new challenges
- facilitating creative adaptation to the work environment
- combining the awareness of one’s background with the attention to others and the situation
- leveraging on games and humour as sources of creativity and positive energy.
THROUGH METHODOLOGICAL GUIDELINES PUT THE COACHING PROCESS INTO PRACTICE
Sharing the responsibility
- the coachee has an active role and full responsibility for his/her learning process
- the aims and methods used are previously agreed
- the relationship is based on transparency and trust.
Developing independence
- the coach always respects client's possible decisions
- the coach does not interfere nor express any evaluation or suggestion.
Recognizing the value of emotions
- the method leads the coachee to naturally revise the awareness of him/herself, his/her experiences, emotions, beliefs and behaviours in both his/her role and his/her own relation network
- the coach is always in the front line as a source of truthful feedback as a stimulus to look for new creative solutions.
